Dr. Onix C. Garib Alpizar was born in Matanzas, Cuba, where he earned his
medical degree from the Medical University of Matanzas in 2001. He
completed his residency training in Family Medicine in Matanzas and
subsequently pursued a fellowship in Gastroenterology in Havana, Cuba,
which he completed in 2009. Early in his career, Dr. Garib provided medical
services in Guatemala and Venezuela, gaining valuable international clinical
experience.

After migrating to the United States, Dr. Garib completed his Internal Medicine
residency at the Central University of the Caribbean, University Hospital Dr.
Ramón Ruiz Arnau. He then completed a Gastroenterology fellowship at the
University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. Dr. Garib is board certified in
both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

Dr. Garib is highly regarded for his expertise in the management of a wide
range of gastrointestinal conditions. His clinical interests include diagnostic
and therapeutic endoscopy, liver diseases, gastrointestinal motility disorders,
and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), among other digestive disorders.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Garib is known for his intellectual curiosity, strong organizational skills, and adaptability. He enjoys traveling, exploring diverse cultures, and spending time with family and friends. He actively promotes and maintains a healthy lifestyle through balanced nutrition and regular physical activity.
